Commentary: Megan Rapinoe says injury is ‘proof’ God does not exist

Great players are respected. Megan Rapinoe lost our respect years ago and seemingly reaped what she sowed. To me, that is poetic justice. Good riddance.

Rapinoe is no trailblazer. She is not a role model. She is not a revolutionary. She is everything that has turned Americans off to sports over the last several years. File Image.

As if soccer legend and left-wing activist Megan Rapinoe’s comments on equal pay, abortion, social justice, the LGBT movement, and transgenderism in sports were not enough, Rapinoe decided to poke fun at God because she got injured.

The comments came in the post-match press conference on Saturday following her non-contact achilles injury in the first three minutes of the National Women’s Soccer League championship, which was slated as the last match of her almost two decades in professional soccer.

While Rapinoe was helped off the field, she shared a hug with fellow United States Women’s National Team player Ali Krieger, who was a part of the championship-winning Gotham FC, and received what seemed to be a standing ovation from the crowd and a laundry list of praise from one commentator calling her a “national heroine.”

Rapinoe, while on the podium in front of reporters following her team’s two-to-one loss, after saying she would receive the “Aaron Rodgers treatment” to get back on her feet physically, Rapinoe said something that rightfully led to outrage online.

"I’m not a religious person or anything and if there was a God, like, this is proof that there isn’t," Rapinoe said. “This is f—ed up. It’s just f—ed up. Six minutes in and I f—ing eat my achilles.”

These irreverent remarks obviously led to backlash online from people all over the political and religious spectrum.

Rapinoe even contradicted herself with her earlier comments in the press conference when she said: “Thank God I have a f—ing deep well of a sense of humor. It’s devastating to go out in a final so early.”

This was just another clear example of Rapinoe’s narcissism. It has always been about Megan Rapinoe, not the country that has offered her the opportunities and freedoms to say nonsensical and delusional drivel, or anyone else for that matter.

While her career has been littered with incredible accolades, medals, awards, championships, and more on the pitch, there is no doubt her legacy off the pitch will be that of a left-wing, selfish, America-hating activist.

In case you needed a reminder of her left-wing activism accolades, here is a helpful list I compiled for you.

Rapinoe is no trailblazer. She is not a role model. She is not a revolutionary. She is everything that has turned Americans off to sports over the last several years.

Quite simply, Rapinoe is everything the Bible speaks against.

God: I created them male and female.

Rapinoe: Gender is a social construct. Whoever identifies as female should be able to compete in women’s sports.

God: Marriage is between a man and a woman.

Rapinoe: I can date and marry another woman if I want.

God: Show no partiality.

Rapinoe: White people need to defer leadership to marginalized groups.

God: Abortion is murder.

Rapinoe: Abortion is healthcare.

God: I am love. I am truth.

Rapinoe: Love is love. Truth is relative.

If I could suggest anything to Megan Rapinoe, I would suggest reading this quote from the great nineteenth-century preacher Charles Spurgeon to understand that her atheism is actually the most fanciful worldview anyone could ever have: “Atheism is a strange thing. Even the devil never fell into that vice.”

Great players are respected. Rapinoe lost our respect years ago and seemingly reaped what she sowed. To me, that is poetic justice. Good riddance.
