Gun Pulse: Alabama lawmaker proposes end to red flag gun confiscation

The legislation would subject state and local law enforcement agencies to $50,000 penalties should one of their officers knowingly enforce a red flag law, statute, rule, or executive order.

Alabama lawmakers will consider legislation to forbid the enforcement of any red flag gun confiscation in the state, voicing concern about the way in which the laws subvert due process.

 

Alabama Republican State Representative Ernie Yarbrough introduced a bill earlier this month called the Anti-Red Flag Gun Seizure Act which would “prohibit any state agency, state or local law enforcement agency, or political subdivision from enforcing any red flag law in this state.”
