Hegseth unveils same standards for both men and women in combat

The official said in a new memorandum that the new “sex-neutral standards” will mean that “all entry-level and sustained physical fitness requirements within combat arms positions.”

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth unveiled orders to ensure that the standards of physical fitness for combat roles are the same whether an aspiring service member is male or female.

 

The official said in a new memorandum that the new “sex-neutral standards” will mean that “all entry-level and sustained physical fitness requirements within combat arms positions” must not be lowered for women, such that the standards are “based solely on the operational demands.”
