Earlier this week, over one thousand illegal immigrants swarmed the El Paso border in just one night. Journalist Bill Melugin reported that it was the “largest single group we have ever seen.”
According to Border Report, there are thousands of immigrants in Matamoros, Mexico, just outside of the United States border, waiting for Title 42 to be lifted on December 21. Title 42 is a public emergency health order put in place by the Trump Administration in 2020 that allows agents to prevent immigrants from seeking asylum as a way to control the influx of immigrants.
Despite the ongoing border crisis, President Biden has refused to visit the border for the entirety of his administration.
When asked by a reporter on December 6th why he has yet to visit the border, Biden said: “Because there’s more important things going on!”
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) tweeted:
Kids are being raped by cartel members. Tons of drugs are flooding across the border that will kill Americans. Millions of illegal aliens are flooding across the border (including suspected terrorists).
Yet Biden doesn't give a damn.
Last year, there were over 30,000 illegal immigrants that had previous criminal records. U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz said that El Paso had a 280% increase in illegal crossings.
“During October (FY23), El Paso Sector saw a 280% increase in encounters compared to October last year (FY22),” said Ortiz. “14,001 encounters in October FY22 to 53,284 in October FY23.”
On December 1, seven U.S. Senators sent a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over the more than 63,000 cases of illegal immigration were dismissed in 2022 due to failure to properly issue documents. Senators Bill Hagerty (R-TN), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Ted Cruz (R-TX), Mike Rounds (R-SD), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), and Ron Johnson (R-WI) asked Mayorkas to respond by December 23.
“The influx of lethal drugs - including fentanyl - being pumped into our country is a direct repercussion of our collapsed border,” said Hagerty. “America needs to reinstate common sense policies & equip our CBP [border control] with the proper resources to protect our country.”
According to Bill Melugin, illegal immigrants are currently being dropped off at airports and bus stations in a “catch and release” system.
