Jennifer Hill, a former employee of progressive voting group New Pennsylvania Project, was arrested earlier this month and charged for allegedly fraudulently registering four people to vote.

Hill attempted to register 310 individuals to vote in the months before the election, but several names were variations of the same name with different emails and addresses, according to comments from Jack Stollsteimer, the district attorney of Delaware County, Pennsylvania.

At least four names she submitted for voter registration through an app offered by the Pennsylvania Department of State were fraudulent. Those names included her deceased father, her grandmother, an unidentified individual, and an individual who died in her home in 2011.

Stollsteimer noted that Hill knew the individual was dead “because she was the person who called the police to come when he died in her house.” The official said one of the four known fraudulent names was successfully registered, although that individual did not cast a vote.

Hill was taken to Delaware County Prison and is charged with forgery, tampering with public records, and applying for registration knowing the individual is not entitled to registration.

New Pennsylvania Project chief executive Kadia Kenner confirmed in a statement to local news that the organization “suspended the staff member pending investigation,” launched an internal investigation, and paused voter registration programs in several areas amid that investigation.

Kenner added that the entity does not provide bonuses or incentives to canvassers, clarifying that part-time hourly wages remain the same no matter how many registrations are submitted.
