There is a disturbingly large portion of leftists who are comfortable with assassinations of right-wing figures such as President Donald Trump and Tesla chief executive Elon Musk.
Trump was targeted twice in the last election with assassination attempts, while several Tesla facilities across the country have been vandalized in protest of Musk and his involvement with the administration, a trend which the Rutgers University Social Perception Lab and the Network Contagion Research Institute noticed in a recent survey about left-wing assassination culture.
When asked about whether murdering Trump or Musk would be “at least somewhat justified,” some 48% and 55% of left-wing respondents respectively concurred, while almost 40% agreed that destroying a Tesla dealership to protest Trump and Musk is “at least somewhat acceptable.”
