The best and worst states for starting a new business

Florida has the best rank since they have the “second-most startups per capita and the highest percentage of adults who engage in entrepreneurship,” plus the eleventh-highest business revenue growth rate.

The lowest performing state was Rhode Island, followed by Connecticut, New Jersey, Alaska, and Maryland, four of which have elevated tax rates and more stifled regulatory environments. File Image.

Republican states dominated a new list of the best states in the country for starting a business, largely offering advantages over Democratic states with their business environments and costs.

 

The new analysis from WalletHub on the best and worst states for launching a business considered twenty-five indicators of startup success, ultimately concluding that the states of Florida, Georgia, Utah, Texas, and Idaho outranked the rest of the country on those factors.
