The Trump administration appealed to the Supreme Court over blocked federal workforce cuts, with United States Solicitor General John Sauer labeling a lower court’s ruling as flawed and arguing it created “ongoing and severe harm” for the administration’s reform efforts.

 

The legal battle started in February, when President Donald Trump issued an executive order aimed at significantly reducing the federal workforce. Shortly afterward, the Office of Personnel Management distributed specific instructions to agencies, but the initiative quickly hit a roadblock.
