White House officials unveiled a new government website last week encouraging users to examine factors pointing to the theory that COVID originated from a laboratory leak in China.
The official social media account for the White House told users to visit covid.gov, which now sends users to an argument in favor of the lab leak theory. The website said that “the virus possesses a biological characteristic that is not found in nature” and noted that all cases of COVID stem from a “single introduction into humans” rather than several spillover events.
Trump administration officials said that the Department of Health and Human Services under the last White House engaged in a “campaign of delay, confusion, and non-responsiveness” in an attempt to obstruct members of Congress who were seeking to examine the origins of COVID.
