George Soros has spent decades bankrolling leftist causes.

The progressive billionaire and his Open Society Foundation have funded political campaigns and other efforts related to abortion, immigration, homosexuality, and transgenderism.

But ever since Elon Musk, who is about sixty times wealthier than the financier, called himself the “George Soros of the middle” and became involved in politics, the left has thrown a tantrum.

Billionaires for me but not for thee.

French President Emmanuel Macron recently ranted about Musk and his influence.

“Who would have thought, if we had been told that the owner of one of the largest social networks in the world would support the new international reactionary movement and intervene directly in elections,” the politician commented.

But that condemnation was full of hypocrisy.

Alex Soros, the son of Soros who runs the family empire, met with Macron a few months ago and vowed to “find innovative ways to work together in an increasingly fragmented world.”

Open Society Foundation money has been pouring into Europe for decades in order to push their agenda across the continent, especially by promoting mass immigration.

Macron has never had a problem with their activities in Europe.

Silence is no longer violence apparently.

In other words, Macron has a massive issue with Musk opening a social media platform for free speech and voicing his own opinions, but no issue with Soros influencing policy.

The leftists are not mad that a billionaire is involved in politics. The leftists are only mad that a billionaire is involved in politics in a way that does not benefit them.
