Joe Biden is either one of the least self-aware people in history or he is a blind tool of the ideological Left in their quest to disarm as many Americans as possible.
Or perhaps both.
Whether ranting about how people are “sick” for owning semi-auto firearms or making laughable claims about the power and use of a 9mm handgun, Biden has made it clear that he hates guns and the people who own and sell them.
That is, unless you happen to be Viktor Bout, a notorious Russian arms dealer known as “The Merchant of Death” who was serving a 25-year sentence for conspiring to kill Americans, among other heinous crimes.
In what will go down as one of the dumbest diplomatic moves by a President of the United States, the Biden administration traded Bout to Vladimir Putin in exchange for WNBA player Brittney Griner.
Griner made headlines earlier this year after she was arrested for carrying vape cartridges filled with hash oil into Russia.

Whether they realize it or not, or even care, the Biden Administration showed just how little they actually care about curbing gun violence with this diplomatic charade.
Proponents of gun control are always quick to jump on a tragedy as a reason to pass yet more restrictions on law-abiding Americans.
Yet they fail to see the irony of releasing a man responsible for the sale of military-grade weapons to known terrorists bent on killing Americans across the globe.
Privately-owned guns save lives
As Dr. John Lott has extensively covered in his book “More Guns, Less Crime,” the lives saved by civilian ownership of firearms are truly immeasurable.
How does one quantify the crimes deterred because of high rates of gun ownership? Attempting to do so is like being asked to prove a negative.
Yet when we look at states with strict gun control laws, we see rates of violent and property crimes much higher than the national average.
States that have more freedom in their gun laws see much higher gun ownership rates and declining rates of crime.
The reason is self-evident. Criminals don’t obey gun control laws. The only people disarmed by anti-gun restrictions are law-abiding citizens.
The state of Georgia passed Constitutional Carry earlier this year. People are now free to carry a handgun for self-defense without begging for a government permit first. Predictably, law-abiding people are more safe and crime is deterred.

According to local media reports in the town of Warner Robins, GA, Joshua Hickey entered American Philly N Wing the evening of December 6th, armed, hooded and masked. He produced his pistol, jumped over the counter and confronted an employee who has not been named. Witnesses report Hickey pistol-whipped his victim and demanded cash.
But thanks to Georgia’s new Constitutional Carry law, the employee wasn’t left defenseless. He drew his own concealed weapon and fired, striking Hickey with two shots. Hickey fled and was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
“"Basically a male entered, later found to be Joshua Hickey, entered with a mask and a hood on. He did have a semi-automatic pistol," Police Sergeant Justin Clark told local media. “The restaurant worker was struck, hit the ground. As he was coming back up, he drew his own legally-owned firearm and fired three shots at Mr. Hickey. Mr. Hickey was struck twice and fled on foot.”
It’s a classic justified self-defense case. The victim defended himself from serious bodily harm and possible death with his legally-owned firearm.
Yet, if the gun control lobby had their way, only one man would have been disarmed in this situation: the restaurant employee.
Democrats have no shame in gun control push
The gun control lobby and the mainstream media will blithely ignore dozens of stories like this every week because they don’t fit the predetermined narrative.
The gun control mob really has no shame in using tragedies to push their gun control agenda even when the policies they are pushing often helped cause the tragedy in the first place! And frequently, the anti-gun solution has little or nothing to do with the crimes the proponents attempt to use.
Look no further than recently in Michigan where a Democrat State Representative filed a so-called “assault weapons” ban on the anniversary of the shooting at the Oxford High School.
The shooter there used a handgun, not a so-called “assault weapon” that the State Representative is pushing to criminalize.
Now, Joe Biden has released a notorious arms dealer, our borders are wide open for the cartels and liberal district attorneys nationwide are releasing violent criminals to our streets. Are we surprised to see increasing rates of violent crime?
After every tragedy anti-gun politicians and their allies in the media howl for every single gun control measure imaginable, demanding that something be done.
Yet how many times have we later seen that it was the government itself that failed to protect the lives of the innocent, and even worse, deprived the law-abiding of the means of defending themselves?
Now, Joe Biden has released a notorious arms dealer, our borders are wide open for the cartels and liberal district attorneys nationwide are releasing violent criminals to our streets. Are we surprised to see increasing rates of violent crime?
Of course not.
But Joe Biden and Democrats will just use the chaos they helped create to push for policies that will leave countless Americans defenseless.
