Gun Pulse: Several gun control measures defeated in Vermont

One defeated bill “would have prohibited carrying firearms in establishments serving alcohol,” effectively disarming law-abiding citizens and creating “hundreds of soft targets for criminals throughout the state.”

Various gun control measures were defeated in Vermont as the bills failed to advance out of committee by the midpoint of the Vermont legislative session known as crossover day.

 

There were at least five gun control bills which failed to advance, according to a report from the National Rifle Association, one of several Second Amendment advocacy groups that called on residents to contact their lawmakers and express their disapproval of the gun control efforts.
