Wisconsin pregnancy center stands against abortion protesters

Cross warned that “instead of clearly proclaiming the truth that abortion is murder and boldly proclaiming the gospel to our cities, far too many American Christians have become obsessed with comfort.”

Alliance Family Services, a network of distinctly Christian reproductive healthcare clinics in the Midwest, has been dealing with protests from abortion activists as they open a new location.

Ginna Cross, who serves as one of the executive directors for Alliance Family Services, said in an interview for The Sentinel that the abortion protests come as they expand their vision to “compete directly with big abortion by operating a nationwide network of reproductive healthcare clinics and support services that are medically exceptional and unapologetically Christian.”

The organization shared on social media that their new facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was met ahead of their grand opening with activists holding signs with slogans declaring “abortion is normal,” as well as claiming that “abortion is healthcare” and that they are merely a “fake clinic.”

Alliance Family Service revealed that the protest was indeed meant to interfere with their opening, but that God already “went before them” by prompting their regional director to “move back our grand opening date a week due to wanting to ensure every bit of our clinic is ready.”

“When things like this happen, as Christians we respond with love and resolve,” the post said of the protests. “These are people who desperately need Christ. We will always treat them with kindness, but they will not bully or intimidate us from the work God had called us to do. Instead, we rejoice that our work is causing waves amidst the demonic darkness gripping Milwaukee.”

The social media post also directly refuted the various lies promoted by the activists. Beyond noting the extensive medical experience of their staff, Alliance Family Services made clear that abortion is not normal, but that “normal is mothers and fathers who will stop at nothing to protect their precious children,” not the willful and intentional taking of their lives under cover of law.

Alliance Family Services runs five clinic locations, a maternity home, and a mobile clinic in front of a busy Planned Parenthood. They are opening a sixth location in Franklin, Tennessee.

Cross remarked to The Sentinel that “child sacrifice is rampant in our nation,” but warned that “instead of clearly proclaiming the truth that abortion is murder and boldly proclaiming the gospel to our cities, far too many American Christians have become obsessed with comfort.” She noted that Alliance Family Services sees their clinics as “frontline rescue operations.”

“Instead of women going to Planned Parenthood at a young age for ‘reproductive healthcare,’ only to have promiscuity pushed so that they soon become abortion customers, the church can provide reproductive healthcare services,” added Cross, who runs Alliance Family Services alongside her husband. “Christians should be teaching young people the truth of God’s design for sex within the confines of marriage. Christians can reach struggling families with free medical services and resources, and the pregnancy help movement is excellent at that.”

Cross nevertheless cautioned that some pregnancy help centers have faced the temptation in recent years to become “primarily humanitarian organizations concerned with providing free services instead of primarily Christian organizations concerned with reaching the lost.”

“The pregnancy help movement must not abandon bringing the gospel unashamedly into those situations,” she said. “Christ is the only hope that any of us have. We must not withhold that from a nation that desperately needs to hear it out of fear of being considered judgmental.”

Beyond their work providing reproductive healthcare, Cross noted that Alliance Family Services is one of few pregnancy centers to actively support equal protection legislation. Such an approach centers on treating preborn babies as the image-bearers of God that they are simply by protecting them with the same homicide and assault laws that already protect born people.

“We will continue to grow and expand as the Lord gives us open doors and resources,” Cross concluded. “We desire to be faithful ambassadors of the work that he has given us to do.”
