President Donald Trump addressed a joint session of Congress for the first time in his new term.
The returning commander-in-chief touted his decisive electoral victory last year despite lawfare, assassination attempts, and much more before highlighting the early signs of successes for his sweeping border security, government efficiency, military reform, and foreign policy agenda.
But the entire time, Democratic lawmakers made absolute fools of themselves, repeatedly interrupting Trump while wearing obnoxious graphic shirts and holding cringeworthy signs.
They are insufferable.
In any case, just a day or two after the speech, we already know what Americans think.
CNN found in one instant survey that an overwhelming 69% of respondents who watched the speech had either a “very positive” or a “somewhat positive” reaction even as only 31% had a negative reaction.
In the same way, CBS News discovered that 68% were “hopeful” and 54% were “proud” after watching the speech, while only 27% were “worried” and 16% were “angry” after the address.
Trump was seen as “presidential” by 74% of respondents, while 74% also described him as “entertaining” and 71% found him “inspiring.” Another decisive 62% share found him “unifying.”
Just a few years ago, many wanted Trump out of public life. America has now come around.
They want the Donald.
Trump is indeed pursuing a common-sense and unifying platform that the vast majority of Americans can appreciate, from keeping males out of female sports leagues to cutting taxes, from ending federal grants that benefit leftist interests to deporting known foreign criminals.
The unhinged resistance efforts from the Democrats are no longer working, outside of a handful of core constituencies in urban areas, academic circles, and perhaps a few other coalitions.
Trump currently has all of the political momentum simply because he is trying to help the nation. Democrats are meanwhile trying to help the pronoun people and the bloated bureaucracy.
Americans can tell who is actually on their side, and they will not support those who are not.
