We all remember how the first Trump administration was dominated by media hoaxes.
The establishment media brazenly lied about President Donald Trump, his policies, and his comments for several years, seeking to convince the nation that he was a racist or a bigot.
That behavior is slated to continue for the next four years.
They just never learn their lesson.
Elon Musk, a key Trump supporter, is the subject of the latest regime media hoax after making a hand gesture at a rally for Trump enthusiasts at Capital One Arena on inauguration day.
The technology executive declared “my heart goes out to you” to the audience and thanked them for backing Trump, then signaled with his right hand from his heart to the audience in a motion that several media outlets claimed was similar to the “Sieg Heil” gesture used by Nazis.
PBS declared that Musk “gave what appeared to be a fascist salute.” CNN whined that Musk was dog whistling for Nazis, saying “viewers are smart” and can tell what the symbol meant.
Even the Anti-Defamation League, famous for finding antisemitism under every rock and around every corner, came out in defense of Musk. But then New York Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is never one to miss a moral panic, accused the organization of “defending a Heil Hitler salute that was performed and repeated for emphasis and clarity.”
The virtue signaling has begun.
But unlike in the first Trump administration, the legacy media has been completely discredited.
In most cases, Americans have simply tuned into other sources for more reliable news.
The media appears to have learned precisely nothing from that experience, and are simply more determined than ever to peddle in lies and propaganda, even if they continue to decline.
