Woke Wars: Tucker Carlson calls for pause on all immigration

America has experienced various bursts of immigration over the past few centuries.

Since the original founding of what is now the United States by settlers from northwestern Europe, there have been other waves of new arrivals that have changed the country.

At times we have seen massive influxes of newcomers from Germany, Italy, China, Ireland, and other nations, with those cultures impacting the broader identity of the United States.

But in recent decades, our population has ballooned by means of unprecedented legal and illegal immigration, meaning that Americans did not choose to import these people and cultures.

What could go wrong?

Tucker Carlson recently provided a shocking but absolutely correct suggestion that America should simply close all legal and illegal immigration while we decide what our country will be.

“We’ve made the country totally unstable,” Carlson correctly observed. “We need to shut down all immigration right now until we can regain equilibrium and figure out what holds us all together as a nation. No more people. Period. None. Cap it right now. It is the biggest problem we have.”

The conservative commentator rightly said that the country needs a cohesive identity, or else the entire nation will splinter into a million pieces, since merely having rainbow flags everywhere does not offer a compelling vision for one of the largest and most powerful nations on earth.

Carlson also noted that American culture has historically been Christian and European. But now that our cultural identity is under threat, and as very few people even try to consider what binds the country together, there remains a constant internal strife that only continues to escalate.

What a xenophobic bigot!

Many will indeed slander Carlson as a racist bigot for merely making this observation.

But he is completely right. There was once a baseline American national identity to which newcomers assimilated, but because the native population stopped requiring assimilation, we are very quickly losing our national distinctives, and therefore losing our entire nation.

After allowing millions of people to enter in a few short years, we may not be able to ever insist on such distinctives, and we will therefore allow the best nation in world history to fade away.

There remains no choice but to take drastic measures in defense of the nation we dearly love.
