Some firearm owners in California are facing extensive wait times as they attempt to obtain concealed carry permits, a reality that impacts the ability of residents to protect themselves.

 

Julio Amayo, an employee of Los Angeles County who trains canines, said in an interview with California Black Media that he recently applied for a concealed carry license, but was informed that he would have to wait between sixteen and twenty months even to receive an initial screen.
