Gun Pulse: Senators call on ATF to obey Trump gun rights order

The letter to the ATF, which was signed by thirty Senate Republicans, urged the agency to “immediately align” their rules with Trump and his “strong support for the Second Amendment.”

They also asked for the ATF to “immediately destroy” the millions of firearm transaction records they possess that are over twenty years old since the files “have no particular law enforcement value.” File Image.

Senate Republicans called on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives last week to comply with an order from President Donald Trump to rescind gun control measures.

 

The commander-in-chief required Attorney General Pam Bondi earlier this month to rescind all previous orders, rules, and guidances enacted by former President Joe Biden that infringe on the Second Amendment, including all rules written by the ATF over the past four years.
