Hegseth warns Indo-Pacific allies about growing threat from China

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth delivered a stark message to Indo-Pacific allies last week, pledging American support against mounting Chinese military and economic pressure.

 

Hegseth outlined plans to bolster overseas defenses to counter Beijing’s threats, particularly regarding Taiwan. “We are not going to sugarcoat it: the threat China poses is real,” Hegseth said during his address at a security forum in Singapore. “It could be imminent.”
