The military implemented a policy prohibiting all gender dysphoric or self-described transgender service members from military service, according to new orders published by the Pentagon.
President Donald Trump signed an executive order in the days after his inauguration making clear that those expressing a false “gender identity” different from their true sex do not “satisfy the rigorous standards necessary for military service.” Pentagon officials said in the memo that those who display gender dysphoria symptoms “are no longer eligible for military service.”
The document also announced that “service members who have a current diagnosis or history of, or exhibit symptoms consistent with, gender dysphoria will be processed for separation.”
