Republican members of Congress vowed to impeach United States District Judge James Boasberg after he demanded that the Trump administration desist from five deportations.

Boasberg issued verbal orders on Saturday telling the federal government to turn around flights in the process of deporting the five illegal alien gang members, a move that would have stopped the transport of the Tren de Aragua members to prison in El Salvador. Trump officials said the flights were already over international waters at the time Boasberg issued the verbal instruction.

Representative Brandon Gill, a Republican from Texas, remarked on social media Saturday that he would be “filing articles of impeachment” against the “activist judge” for issuing the order.
