A retired Army officer has pleaded guilty to sharing classified information about the war between Russia and Ukraine through an online dating service.

David Slater, who had top-secret clearance while working at the United States Strategic Command in Nebraska, entered the plea before a federal magistrate in Omaha last week. Prosecutors dropped two other counts in exchange for the plea.

“Access to classified information comes with great responsibility,” United States Attorney for the District of Nebraska Lesley Woods said in a statement.
