Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg will be positioned on the platform behind President Donald Trump on inauguration day alongside Cabinet nominees and senior elected officials.
The three technology billionaires, who also currently happen to be the three richest men in the world, will be seen next to government officials, former presidents, and members of the Trump family, according to a report last week from The Washington Post, which is owned by Bezos.
Musk confirmed on social media that he was “honored” to receive the invitation. He has been the most visibly in favor of Trump among the three inauguration guests, appearing at campaign events and donating hundreds of millions to the Trump campaign and other Republicans.
Zuckerberg recently ended many content moderation policies at Meta to allow for more open expression at Facebook, Instagram, and the other social media platforms owned by the company. He will host a black-tie event on Monday evening with Republican megadonor Miriam Adelson.
Bezos, who serves as executive chairman of Amazon, recently overruled the opinions of editors at The Washington Post and refused to endorse either candidate for the presidential race.
The three entrepreneurs collectively have various investments in the technology, space exploration, transportation, and social media domains. Their collective net worth is currently about $900 billion, almost half of which comes from Musk.
Other investors and executives in Silicon Valley, such as David Sacks, Peter Thiel, and Bill Ackman, have also publicly voiced support for the Trump campaign. Some commentators have described an ideological pivot in the technology sector as a vibe shift marked by hesitance toward diversity, equity, and inclusion, globalism and antinatalism, and other facets of progressivism.
