President Donald Trump threatened to back a primary challenge against Kentucky Republican Representative Thomas Massie after he announced that he would vote against a spending bill.
Massie said that the newest continuing resolution presented in Congress, which would fund the government through September, would ultimately “spend the same amounts of money on generally the same things Biden spent money on” during the last months of his administration.
When the lawmaker revealed that he would be one of very few Republicans to vote against the measure, Trump wrote that Massie votes against “just about everything” and asked if there are “any takers” to defeat him in a primary contest. Trump vowed to “lead the charge against him.”
