The number of illegal aliens who have entered the United States under the administration of President Joe Biden is roughly 25% higher than official figures currently indicate, according to a report from The Telegraph based on a freedom of information request submitted by the outlet.
The official figures show that 7.2 million people have tried to enter the country illegally since the start of the Biden administration almost four years ago. Yet newly obtained United States Customs and Border Protection data from The Telegraph reveals that another 1.8 million illegal aliens were encountered but not apprehended between February 2021 and September 2024.
Almost 9.0 million people have therefore illegally crossed the border amid the current administration, under which Vice President Kamala Harris was charged with handling the crisis.
Simon Hankinson, an immigration research fellow at the Heritage Foundation, warned in comments to The Telegraph that gotaways “are going to be more likely to have criminal records and to be undesirable than people who show up and surrender to the border force.”
The revelation emerges as illegal immigration becomes one of the most important issues in the present election cycle, especially as illegal aliens or foreigners actively imported by the Biden administration commit crimes and overwhelm public services for entire communities.
The report from The Telegraph noted that Jason Owens, who serves as chief of United States Border Patrol, previously commented in another interview that he lays awake at night worrying about the gotaways and the “national security threat” they present to the country.
“What do they have to hide? What are they bringing in? What is their intent? Where are they coming from?” Owens remarked. “We simply don’t know the answers to those questions.”
Beyond the southern border, illegal aliens have been entering the country by means of the northern border, including from many countries with active Islamic terrorist entities.
