The height of the social justice movement in the summer of 2020 can be easy to forget.

We witnessed the rapid overhaul of our culture and institutions at that time. As everything happened all at once, from the burning of cities to the removal of statues, all of us probably missed crazy events that happened simply because we could not track everything at once.

One such example is the fact that Washington DC Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser renamed a street outside the White House to be called Black Lives Matter Plaza in the summer of 2020.

They also emblazoned the racial activist phrase on the concrete in massive bright yellow letters.

Bowser said last week that she would paint over the slogan and replace the phrase with a design created by schoolchildren in the capital city after Republicans voiced their disapproval.
