Woke Wars: Scientist rants against Trump supporters

Laura Helmuth, the neuroscientist who worked as the editor-in-chief of Scientific American, ranted against fellow Generation X members after the election.

The editor also had some choice words for people in the Midwest, noting that “every four years I remember why I left Indiana.” File Image.

We have seen a shakeup in the media over the few months.

Several news outlets, such as The Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times, refused to endorse either Vice President Kamala Harris or President-Elect Donald Trump, resulting in mutiny as editors resigned or otherwise expressed their disappointment.

Traditional news channels meanwhile took a beating as both Trump and Harris sought to reach voters by means of novel platforms like podcasts and social media.

But at least one massive shakeup happened after the election.

They are not very happy.

Laura Helmuth, the neuroscientist who worked as the editor-in-chief of Scientific American, went on an unhinged rant against fellow Generation X members after the votes were tallied.

In her profanity-laced social media tirade, she claimed that Generation X is simply “full of f—king fascists,” whined that her “meanest, dumbest, most bigoted high school classmates are celebrating early results,” and concluded “f—k them to the moon and back.”

The editor also had some choice words for people in the Midwest, who overwhelmingly supported Trump, noting that “every four years I remember why I left Indiana” and adding that she respects the people who stayed “and are trying to make it less racist and sexist.”

Your bigotry is showing.

Helmuth then apologized and announced her resignation.

We all know that the legacy media is full of partisans. No one would be surprised to learn that many fellow reporters and editors nodded silently to themselves when they read the rant from Helmuth.

We also should learn that the scientists, who would like us to believe that they are neutral and objective actors, are very far from neutral and objective, if the lockdowns and mandates through which we all suffered four years ago were not already proof of that reality.

Many of them are in fact overwhelmingly partisan.

As the most recent election forces every progressive elite institution to show their cards, we all should be taking notes, and remembering that they are not on our side.
