Members of Congress heard testimony last week revealing that the federal government spent over $240 million on inflicting transgender experiments on animals like mice, rats, and monkeys.
South Carolina Republican Representative Nancy Mace, who chairs a subcommittee of the House Oversight Committee that deals with government innovation, said in her testimony that the taxpayer grants “funded painful and deadly transgender experiments that forced lab animals to undergo invasive surgeries and hormone therapies at universities across the country.”
Mace cited findings from the White Coat Waste Project revealing that $2.5 million was spent on studying the fertility of “transgender mice,” while $1.1 million was spent on learning “if female rats receiving testosterone therapies to mimic transgender men were more likely to overdose on a party drug commonly used in the LGBTQ community to induce drug-fueled chemsex.”
Justin Goodman, a senior vice president at the White Coat Waste Project, affirmed to the House Oversight Committee that more than $240 million in National Institutes of Health taxpayer grants were spent on “transgender animal experiments,” including some $26 million in active funding.
The vast majority of the funds came from the National Institutes for Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the subsidiary of the National Institutes of Health previously led by Anthony Fauci.
Other lawmakers have referenced taxpayer funded scientific research made to advance leftist interests while critiquing the wasteful spending in the federal bureaucracy. Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz, who chairs the Senate Commerce Committee, recently unveiled a database that named thousands of grants which “advanced neo-Marxist class warfare propaganda.”
The lawmaker said in a release of the data that such initiatives “have poisoned research efforts, eroded confidence in the scientific community, and fueled division among Americans.”
