Jeff Bezos announced that the left-leaning opinion page of The Washington Post would undergo substantial changes in the near future by shifting focus to “personal liberties and free markets.”
The founder of Amazon and owner of The Washington Post announced via social media Wednesday that the news outlet would emphasize both ideas since he believes “a big part of America’s success has been freedom in the economic realm and everywhere else.”
Bezos also acknowledged that the decision comes amid broader pivots in the media business, which is more heavily driven by social media and online platforms rather than legacy outlets.
