Many social media posts have since claimed Metcalf sucker punched Anthony and that Metcalf died of a drug overdose, both of which authorities denied and are now investigating. File Image.

Karmelo Anthony, the teenager who faces charges in Texas for stabbing high school football player Austin Metcalf, has raised almost $200,000 in funds after the alleged brazen murder.

Anthony allegedly stabbed Metcalf in the chest following an interaction at a track and field event last week, with the teenager dying in the arms of his twin brother. The shocking story, which has garnered nationwide attention, is racially charged since Anthony is black and Metcalf was white.
