The administration of President Donald Trump repurposed CBP One, the mobile application that allowed massive numbers of foreigners to declare asylum and enter the United States under now-former President Joe Biden, into a tool that illegal aliens can now use for self-deportation.

CBP One enabled foreigners to schedule appointments at ports of entry, including forty-seven airports across the country, after which the foreigners were paroled on two-year grants and allowed to seek work. Trump shuttered the program within minutes of taking office, but his administration revealed that CBP One has since been automatically updated to CBP Home.

Department of Homeland Security officials remarked that any foreigner with the application on his or her phone has indeed received the automatic update, while the agency can utilize information the migrants may have previously uploaded to CBP One to target for deportations.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a statement that foreigners will use CBP Home because the application “gives aliens the option to leave now and self-deport, so they may still have the opportunity to return legally in the future and live the American dream.”

Noem vowed that “if they don’t, we will find them, we will deport them, and they will never return.” The official also observed that the Biden administration “exploited the CBP One app to allow more than one million aliens to enter the United States,” but said the new administration “with the launching of the CBP Home app” is now “restoring integrity to our immigration system.”

Vice President JD Vance has called the existence of CBP One “the most underreported scandal” under the Biden administration over the past four years. Biden oversaw record levels of illegal immigration under his administration, a trend which has largely halted under Trump.
