We have heard Republicans vow for decades that they would entirely abolish the IRS.
President Donald Trump has not yet made such a move. We can only hope that he will. But he has worked to close dozens of IRS offices and to dismiss 7,000 probationary IRS employees.
These actions are happening in the middle of tax season, and with every such effort, Trump and his government efficiency agenda are surely adding to his highest political favorability ever.
No one actually likes paying taxes.
Almost nobody in our country, except for the leftists who for some reason virtue signal about forking over their incomes to the federal bureaucracy, are actually upset about a smaller IRS.
