For two years we were all treated to an insufferable amount of wokeness shoved in our faces by Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, the stars of the new Snow White live action remake from Disney.
Zegler went viral numerous times for her repulsive and loud-mouthed promotion of feminism.
She suggested that Prince Charming could be cut from the film entirely, since her version of Snow White is a feminist independent girlboss who does not need any man to save her.
Even if that were true, someone now needs to save Snow White from terrible box office results.
The magic has definitely faded.
Snow White opened over the weekend with a lackluster $43 million in ticket sales, which is a rather dismal outcome for a Disney live action remake film. Snow White was once the greatest Disney success ever, but the film fell short of the $46 million made by Dumbo five years ago.
Remember that the film cost over $270 million to create, meaning Disney will likely lose money.
Disney is therefore continuing in their pattern of ruining franchises and burning revenue. The entertainment conglomerate seems to destroy everything, from classics like Snow White to favorites like Star Wars, which debuted a transgender stormtrooper last year in a new book.
Snow White was the highest-grossing animated film for over half a century after release. Star Wars was also one of the highest-grossing media franchises ever to hit the silver screens.
They are now trying to be awful.
Disney apparently would rather continue to push wokeness even in a culture that increasingly rejects wokeness, especially in the particular flavors of feminism and leftist gender ideology.
Snow White could have retold the classic story and been a smashing success, reclaiming the lost but increasingly missed virtues of masculine chivalry, feminine mystery, and defeating evil.
But the marketing stalwarts at Disney decided to hand the microphone to Zegler, who reflected the exact opposite of everything that made the original Snow White an unmatched success.
