The past few days have seen the overwhelming collapse of the diversity regime.
Through a flurry of executive orders signed after his return to office, President Donald Trump removed every diversity, equity, and inclusion priority from the ranks of the federal government.
In the past several months, and especially in the weeks after the Trump election victory, many powerhouses of corporate America have seen where the winds are blowing and ended their diversity programs as well, instead paying obeisance toward meritocracy and excellence.
The woke tears are turning into a river.
But there is one more progressive social priority that seems to have fallen out of style.
CNN recently ran a segment during which they complained that Americans are not connecting the dots between the wildfires destroying the Los Angeles area and the purported climate crisis.
“The way we can see this right here and now, take a look at the monthly changes in Google searches,” one CNN host said, noting that searches for the term “wildfire” have increased 2,400% even as searches for the term “climate change” fell by 9% over the same period.
“My goodness gracious. This is the most amount of people searching for wildfires ever, going back since Google trends began back in 2004,” the host continued. “I also looked in California, there has been no increase in the number of searches for climate change.”
This phenomenon could very well point to the end of the climate change religion.
The moral panics are much less exciting now.
Beyond the loss of trust that the scientific high priests of our society earned for themselves in recent years, perhaps many Americans simply want more productivity and prosperity.
Trump included the line “drill baby drill” in his inaugural address, expressing a desire to increase oil and natural gas production in order to expand the economy and compete with other nations.
After years of surging energy prices and other economic hardships, often because of policies promoted by the climate cult, that philosophy is more appealing and attractive than ever.
The leftist cults are losing power, no matter how much CNN and their allies whine.
